Trinity United Methodist’s Candlelight Concerts
is delighted to present classical rock guitarist, singer and songwriter:
Tom Melancon
Admission to the concert is free (really!), with a suggested donation of $15 per person. You are most welcome to attend whether you choose to donate or not. Half of the donations from Melancon’s concert will be given to Jefferson County Immigrant Rights Advocates (JCIRA) whose mission is to support the rights of immigrants and their families who live or work on the Olympic Peninsula and to immigrant detainees in Washington state.
Tom Melancon honed his songwriting, recording and performing chops in Northern Nevada, where he was a founding member of “The Pods” a stellar cowpunk band and “Ghost Ranch” an Americana band known for its harmonies and live performances. Tom has been writing, recording and performing Americana and Rock music in Seattle since the early 2000’s.
In 2019, Tom formed “American Flats” and the band made a name for its dynamic live shows, infusing elements of punk and pop into Tom’s Americana originals. The band released its first EP “Nevada” in February of 2024 and the original lineup disbanded. The band reformed in the summer of 2024 to play shows at the Showbox and the Bite of Seattle.
In April of 2025, Tom was offered a scholarship to attend an artist residency at Chateau Orquevaux in France. American Flats has been rehearsing and recording the songs Tom wrote there ever since. Tom continues to perform as a solo artist and American Flats is gearing up for its best gig ever when they perform at this year’s Bumbershoot Festival in September. Look for a new album from later this year!
Trinity United Methodist Church is located at 609 Taylor Street, across from the Community Center, in Uptown Port Townsend. Attendees should plan on arriving early – doors will open at 6:30. Masks are encouraged for in-person attendees.
