Trinity United Methodist’s Candlelight Concerts
is proud to present:
Joe Euro with An Evening of Classical/Neo-Classical/Finger-Style Guitar Playing.
Admission to the concert is free (really!), with a suggested donation $15 per person if you wish to donate. You are most welcome to attend whether you choose to donate or not. Half the proceeds will go to Dove House Advocacy Services. Dove House Advocacy Services has grown in the last 45 years from a task force of women to an agency with wrap-around services for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other victims of crime. Dove House continues to support survivors as it continues to fill gaps in the community it serves.
This Joe Euro Candlelight Concert performance will feature Acoustic, all Instrumental “Finger Style”/Neo-Classical Guitar, many using various “open tunings”and reach over/hammer-ons, and pull-offs highlighting many of Mr. Euro’s “Neo-Classical” original compositions and some actual Classical Guitar pieces, “plucked from the Classical Guitar Repertoire”, a few of Euro’s lite jazz standards arrangements and improvs,, and a few of Euro’s “Ambient Space Guitar” creations which utilize a digital reverb and a volume pedal, to draw down all that “Taj Mahal”-like reverb.
This is a sound he enjoyed developing and experimenting with when he moved to this area back in 1979 and would bring his guitar into the bunkers at Fort Flagler, where he and his wife, Katy lived and ran the Youth Hostel that was there then. Joe also was able to get into the “Cistern” at Fort Worden, which also inspired him to use this mezmerizing “Big Spacey Sound” which is now accessible with some of his “guitarsenal” of various guitars and “gizmology” as he refers to the various sound enhancement tools pedals and devices he often uses. Euro’s music has been featured on broadcasts around the world, including NPR and PRI as well as some film and video productions.
Joe Euro’s day-job is owner/proprietor of The Wine Seller”, a retail wine/beer/bottle shop located on Water Street in downtown Port Townsend. The Wine Seller was founded by Euro in 1982 and is one of Washington State’s oldest and finest wine/bottle shops. Besides his passions for wine and music, Joe loves to travel. He has hosted and guided more than 20 European and one South American “Small Group Journeys” since 2004.
Euro’s four studio recordings can be streamed on most streaming audio sites such as Spotify; Pandora; AmazonMusic; Apple Music; Tidal; Rhapsody and probably more. His actual CDs are available at his shop as well. Just punch in or tell your “smart speaker” to “play Joe Euro”. That, most times will get you to his music…but if you hear some “rap” guy…different guy…try again.
