Trinity United Methodist’s Candlelight Concerts

is proud to present the classical piano performance of Michael Carroll, who will be performing at the Candlelight Concert series at Trinity United Methodist Church on Thursday, February 22nd at 7:00 PM for one set with no intermission. This will be a live concert with doors opening at 6:30 PM.

The performance will also be streamed live at https://trinityumcpt.org/concerts where you will find a link for the Candlelight Concerts Online and ways to donate. The concert will also be simulcast on KPTZ FM 91.9.

Admission to the concert is free (really!), with a suggested donation $15 per person. You are most welcome to attend whether you choose to donate or not. Half of the proceeds from this concert will go to Carroll’s chosen charity, Jefferson County Foodbanks, whose mission is to serve county residents by providing food to those in need in an equitable manner, while maintaining an attitude and atmosphere that recognizes the dignity of each individual.

Carroll’s concert program will include musical selections from some of the classical greats: Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms and Chopin. According to Carroll. “I tried to decide if there was a theme that would suggest why these composers go together, but I couldn’t except for the fact that they are all among the best piano pieces of their respective composers.”

Pianist Michael Carroll began piano study at age eight and studied with several teachers, most notably Robert Van Meter at Clarion State College in Pennsylvania. Since moving to Seattle in 1990, he has played numerous recitals and chamber music performances and has soloed in concertos by Haydn, Mozart, Poulenc, Bartok and Grieg. An experienced choral and vocal accompanist, he has performed with many Seattle area ensembles and soloists and for ten years was the staff pianist and program annotator for Seattle’s Thalia Symphony Orchestra. He is currently co-director of the Port Townsend Symphony Orchestra Chamber Music Series. He lives and teaches in Port Ludlow.

Trinity United Methodist Church is located at 609 Taylor Street, across from the Community Center, in Uptown. Attendees should plan on arriving early – doors will open at 6:30. Masks are encouraged for in-person attendees.
